EUR as the legal means of payment from 01.01.2023

As of today, EUR is the official currency and legal tender in the Republic of Croatia.

All accounting documents must be issued in EUR, regardless of the date of the business event.

However, each business entity has the obligation of dual displaying (displaying in both HRK and EUR with the application of the fixed conversion rate (7,53450) and in accordance with the rules for conversion and rounding) of the following until 31.12.2023:

• the total amount on the invoice when issuing an invoice to a consumer with the fixed conversion rate displayed
• the total amount paid to the worker on his/her bank account on the document issued for paid salary and other income with the fixed conversion rate displayed.
